Our Humble Acres Organic Compost can be used on your lawns, in your flower beds, and in your vegetable or fruit gardens.
For sod establishment or seeding lawns spread 200 to 500 lbs per 1,000 square feet as an underlayment prior to laying sod. It maybe lightly tilled with top soil or not. Sod establishment still requires low volumes of a soluble Fertilizer applications and frequent irrigation.
Using our Organic Compost to develop a home garden is rather simple. It doesn't matter if you have Sandy or Clay type soil the process is the same. Also it doesn't matter if you use raise beds or just a typical garden setting. Just mix our compost your soil in a 50/50 basis. Add 2 to 3 inches of compost and till it in with 2 to 3 inches of your garden soil. For year 2 just add another inch of compost and till it in.
Top Dressing Established Lawns
To improve lawn vigor top dress established lawns with 200 to 500 lbs per 1,000 square feet. This increases soil microbes number that help in reducing thatch layer.
